Who we are

Rewind Bodyshop is the trading name of Rewind Motorsport Ltd, company number SC753946, registered in Scotland. Our workshop is at 8D, Murraysgate Industrial Estate, Whitburn, Bathgate EH47 0LE. Rewind Motorsport Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here, and we handle it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The data we collect

When you use our contact or estimate forms we collect what you type: your name, email address, phone number, vehicle details, a description of the work, and any photos you upload. If you email or call us, we hold the correspondence. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs (IP address, pages requested) to keep the site secure and working. With your consent, Google Analytics records how the site is used. The staff sign-in area holds a sign-in session for our team only, and sets nothing for visitors.

Why we use it, and our lawful bases

We use your details to answer your enquiry and prepare an estimate (steps taken at your request before a contract), to carry out agreed work and keep the job record (performance of a contract), to keep accounting records (legal obligation), to keep the site secure and improve how it works (legitimate interests), and for analytics (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the providers who make the business run: Cloudflare (website hosting), LaingLogic (builds and runs this website, its forms and our staff system), Resend (delivers the emails our forms send), Google (analytics, only after you consent), and our accountants where records require it. If you ask us to handle an insurance or non-fault claim, we share the details the claim needs with your insurer, the at-fault insurer or their appointed engineers.

International transfers

Google may process analytics data outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by a UK adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. Everything else stays with UK or UK-adequate providers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within 12 months. Job records, including estimate photos, are kept for 6 years after the work completes, to meet accounting rules and stand behind our workmanship. Technical logs are kept only for as long as keeping the site secure needs them, then discarded.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you gave. Email admin@rewindbodyshop.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will acknowledge it within 30 days and put it right without undue delay, as UK law requires. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
